It was a fun weekend.  I went in on Friday afternoon to see if the store owner needed help setting up, but she and other employees had it taken care of.  I helped place the goodie bags at each chair.  Then I skeedaddled to get ready for Friday night football.

1st-one-up Saturday, I was the first one up and in at 6am.  You could tell people had been hard at work yesterday.  But with no chatter, and no machines running, it was a peaceful start to my day.  I quickly opened my stuff, laid out my cut squares for my table runner, and got to stitching.

I stopped for a coffee break when the other ladies began to trickle in around 730a.  Sewed through to lunch, took a little drive to the pharmacy for one of the retreat attendees, and then back into til dinner.  I got the table runner top complete and had enough squares leftover to make two placemat tops.  Dinner was a delicious affair.  I was going to take full advantage of the hot tub, so went and changed into my suit, only to find out it was closed.  ACK!  So I settled for the pool, except after entering to my knees, I found it was not “heated” to my definition of warmth.  So back to the room, a shower, and a little Penguin hockey on the tele.

relaxing My roomie came in about 9p, and by10p we were lights out and sleeping hard.

Sunday, we got up bright and early to start again.  I had put fall away before dinner and was going to switch seasons into more of the mini snowmen quilts/large mug rugs.  I had my kits cut and ready earlier in the week for a pair of them.

snowman-pieces  I got him stitched up, then went to iron, and unfortunately, something brown leaked out and stained his face.  Not the finest moment of retreat.  I decided I had enough, my back was tired, and I wanted to spend some quality time with the kiddos at home.  I packed it up after breakfast and headed for home.

I had a lot o fun, ate too much chocolate, poked my finger a few too many times, got my project sandwiched, and thoroughly enjoyed walking around to see what everyone was doing, browsing through magazines I haven’t seen, and sewing uninterrupted.  Looking forward to the Soring Retreat!
