May 28.  The anniversary of the day my mother was born.  This year I find myself ALMOST able to think of this day as one to celebrate.  My heart still aches.

It’s flying here

This month has really gotten away from me!  The kids are extra busy with end of year concerts, art shows, camping trips, and all the projects the teachers can assign.  Plus there is graduation prep, shopping, announcements, two baccalaureate services, prom coming up, yearbooks.  Add to that one husband who has been out of town twice, and going again.  Regular household duties.  Plus work.  And you can see why I’m losing sleep and getting really run down!

the next 3 weeks are jam packed for us.  A dozen or so different doctor visits.  There is only one evening on my calendar that does not have an activity or two or three on it so far.  Even our Sundays are packed, we have Bible school starting, a graduation picnic to attend in WV, and the baccalaureate services on two different weekends.  And this mom LOVES it!

im so proud of my kids sticking it out to the end of the year.  They’ve both had some obstacles to overcome this year. Of course, who doesn’t?

Keep it up!

Back to the ER with our daughter today.  She is suffering and school is not being accommodating.  Stress raises the pain.  We need immediate relief today and a miraculous complete healing to follow.

Love my kids!

Wow! Last night was much harder than I imagined.  My husbands cousin passed away earlier this week after a 15 year fight with multiple cancers.  Her son and his family are mirror images of ours.  The boys grew up together in a small town, bowled on youth league, played little league, ran around, and both went into the military, we all got married the same year, our kids are even the same ages!

Last night, we drove down from our hometown to theirs, almost two hours south, so we could be present for the viewing.  Walking in the funeral home I thought I had it together.  First few hugs were fine, then her son and his wife grabbed me. “I know how hard this must be for you…” yeah, it is.  Feelings of my time sitting in that line shaking hands and being hugged when my mom died washed over me.  Knowing exactly how he was thinking and feeling standing beside that casket- watching their youngest skip back and forth from the kitchen – seeing his dad in shock – all of it too familiar.

All our love and prayers Romano family. Faretheewell Kathy.
